You couldn't make it up!
It's no secret that Labour are good at spending - and usually money they don't have.
The country is very slowly starting to emerge from an economic nightmare - inflicted on us by a mixture of the banking crisis and the financial incompetence of Labour who went around spending money like a child in a sweetshop. What a legacy they left? PFI (preventing fiscal integrity) meant that schools and hospitals got built but they gave no thought to how the huge debt could be repaid.
Labour councils seem to enjoy telling us how difficult the government cuts are making it to maintain services but surely the recent disclosure in the Derbyshire Times that Derbyshire County Council had spent £150,000 on hiring a Public relations expert - probably to highlight to the public how they couldn't afford staff must be the ultimate irony. The lollipop helpers, currently under threat throughout Chesterfield, won't see it that way and I bet you don't !
The public know their money could and should be better utilised than financing slick words to hoodwink the electorate. If you agree sign the petition here.
