WEAR IT PINK FOR BREAST CANCER
Paul Holmes, Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield is joining forces with Breast Cancer Campaign in its award winning 'wear it pink' day on Friday 27 October 2006 as part of breast cancer awareness month. Paul Holmes MP said: "Every year over 13,000 people in the UK die from breast cancer. Some of them will be from my constituency of Chesterfield and a close member of my family has been treated for the disease. "Please encourage your family and friends to support 'wear it pink' day. It's great fun and the money raised will go towards valuable breast cancer research."
Claire Learner of Breast Cancer Campaign said: "By making a donation of just £2 you can dress as brightly as you like, as long as it's pink. Your donation will allow Breast Cancer Campaign to continue researching the cure and help the one woman in nine in the UK that will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It's as simple as that. Last year our fun loving "pinkies" raised a staggering £1.69 million with our target £2.1 million this year. Help us reach our target and take part in the UK's original and best pink day. To register and to receive your free fundraising pack either call freephone 0800 1073104; or visit www.wearitpink.co.uk"
