Cllr Katherine Hollingworth calls for Urgent Action

Lib Dem Councillor Katherine Hollingworth has asked for urgent action to remove the growth at the bottom of the trees on Holmebank West describing it as a hazard to pedestrians and drivers. She explains "this is as an increasingly dangerous situation. People using pushchairs and wheelchairs are forced to walk on the road to get past. Plus the growth obscures peoples vision when coming out of driveways"

Holmebank West is a busy cut through with many parked cars and poor visibility. Cllr Hollingworth said "I am grateful that Chesterfield Borough Council stepped in immediately by cutting back the growth which was obscuring parked cars as it was a real danger". The rest of the cutting back was referred to Derbyshire County Council by CBC (DCC are responsible for the trees), and by myself in July. But still nothing has been done. Despite the current drive to promote active travel it would seem Derbyshire County Council do not give any priority to the needs of people in residential areas of Chesterfield."
