Chatsworth Road Festival 2013

Chesterfield Liberal Democrats from the west of town, supported by the PPC Julia Cambridge, were once again key participants in the planning and production of the Chatsworth Road Festival.

This year's festival took place in October 2013 with an even bigger selection of events and activities for the public to enjoy.

The event is organised by a committee that encourages, cajoles and generally talks to local businesses, community organisations, pubs and individuals and encourages them to participate.

This year's festival was bigger and more varied than before, thanks in a large way to two local Lib Dem councillors from West Ward who initiated over a dozen different activities ranging from the Chatsworth Road Festival Chip Challenge (the mayor chose his preferred portion of chips from the local fish and chip shops) to Brampton's Got Talent and from Clutter Clearance to a Cheese and Cheers night hosted at Brampton Brewery.

The programme of events showcased Chatsworth Road, the key arterial road to Chesterfield, in a very positive way and brought new business to the premises that took part. This area is now a hive of activity; some businesses have moved into larger premises, some new businesses are flourishing.

Many new thoughts and ideas are in the pipeline for next year, with hopes of even more participants taking part in what has now become an eagerly awaited fixture in the local calendar.
