Chesterfield: Burrows Bothered by Badgers?

A Government Minister complained recently about 'Badgers moving the goalposts' when they refused to cooperate by lining up to be shot in the failed culling experiment elsewhere in England.

Now Council Leader John Burrows is complaining bitterly because Chesterfield Badgers Burrows (Setts to be precise) have been found on Queens Park Annexe. This green space was left as a gift to the people of Chesterfield so that they - and perhaps the Badgers too - could enjoy that protected green space forever.

But the Labour Council are determined to ignore local people's wishes by closing down Queens Park Leisure Centre and concreting over this green Annexe with a smaller inferior replacement. One that would leave us all with over £10 Million of debt.

It's not too late to change your mind John, the Badgers are trying to tell you something. Go for one of the options originally put forward for refurbishing the existing Leisure Centre instead.

Meanwhile dig in you badgers!
