October 2021 Black History Month

Black History Month UK is a celebration of Black history, arts and culture that takes place throughout October every year. The event provides an important opportunity to highlight and learn about Black history and heritage, and the way that people of African and Caribbean descent have shaped our nation's story.

In Chesterfield there is

ACCA African Caribbean Community Association

This offers support services for African and Caribbean people, including social events, day trips, self-help groups and information and advice.

Exhibition: Chesterfield Black Stories

In the Little Gallery there is an exhibition called 'Chesterfield Black Stories' which is presented in partnership with ACCA, exploring the stories, experiences and contributions of the African and Caribbean Community in Chesterfield.
