Queen Concert

Thursday the 5th August found the Mayor, Glenys Falconer, and her Consort, Cllr Keith Falconer, at the evening Queen tribute concert. Held appropriately in Queens Park the concert was promoted by Derbyshire County Cricket Club. A dazzling collection of performers from London's West End, including former stars from the smash hit musical 'We Will Rock You', gave an incredible tribute to one of the world's great rock bands.

The set of classic Queen songs together with the energetic performance of the band put the wet weather to the back of people's minds. Fans of all ages came along to enjoy the music. Young and old, grannies and parents all sang along and danced in the park.

Glenys said "it was a brilliant night out. and even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits".
