Find your Voice with the Charity Shop DJ

July 31, 2007 12:27 PM

Paul met the Charity Shop DJ in Parliament to encourage people not to throw away their old vinyl records. Andy Jupp, aka the Charity Shop DJ has been working since 2001, going around car boots sales and second hand shops sourcing records to use for his party mixes. He has travelled the country playing gigs with his recycled remixes and has even been to India!

Paul, who is a fan of vinyl and collects artistic vinyl sleeves from the 60's says 'Music is a massive part of my life. It reflects who we are and what we believe in. When people throw away their old records they might not realise that they could be of use to someone. We all want to promote recycling, and the Charity Shop DJ has taken this to a new, fun level.'

'Music reaches out to everybody. The Charity Shop DJ wants to encourage us to communicate through music. His projects are about inclusion, everyone can be involved and have a voice. The schemes promote equality and respect; it's a great idea and I very much enjoyed being a part of that.'
